Roger DeLong left a comment for emil espinosa
Emil, I don't know how I came across your name on this site. I listen to classical guitar music on you tube now and then and somehow your name appeared. I am still living in Ft. Myers. Where are you now? I think of you whenever I hear certain…

I guess! I think this network will become defunct when Ning phases out free plans. I'm not sure that I want to spend $20/month to get all the option the network needs.

I am really pleased with the Aranjuez silver 300 basses. They have a lot of punch and bite to them without sounding too bright or thin.

I started working on Emilio Pujol's Tonadilla and realized that aside from some arrangements, Guajira, and El Abejorro, I hadn't heard much of his music. With all the CG recordings I have, he is very poorly represented. I just downloaded Claudio Marcotulli's cd of his music, and I am loving it. It's beautifully played, and a really like the compositions. I don't understand why his music seems so…See More

Favorite Classical Strings...

I just wanted to throw this questions out to the group:

What are you favorite strings for the classical guitar?

What tension do you typically prefer?

Please respond in the comments with your answers. Thanks!

Update from me

Been a while since I posted anything here, but that's because I've been so busy. Actually, the guitar's taken a bit of a back seat because I've been working on my violin playing.

My album, In Performance, finally came out on 25th Feb 2010. You can listen to it at CD Baby by following the link:

I'm pretty pleased with it, even though I know there are various…

Musical options for ending on a chord

What are some of your favorite ways to end on a chord? The main options that come to mind are a more standard roll or maybe a balanced chorale-like approach. David Russell got me thinking about more possibilities in this particular clip:

Is there a specific term for this type of an ending (or technique for that matter)? It's so beautiful. Please share your thoughts as well as some of your other favorites ways to end pieces. Thanks in advance for… Continue
